Researcher Toolkit for Patient & Public Involvement (PPI) launched 19 June
The ECMC network has embraced Cancer Research UK’s belief that great public and patient involvement increases understanding of cancer and supports the quality of research carried out. We, the Public and Patient Involvement (PPI) team, strive to support researchers to involve (consult, collaborate, and/or partner with) people affected by cancer in their work. This includes running a PPI training session at JING – ‘Training the Next Generation’ conference, and we’ve now developed a new Patient and Public Involvement in Research Toolkit for our research community. This toolkit is packed with the resources, information, and guidance that you, our inspiring researchers, told us were needed to support PPI in cancer research.
This free, online, open-access toolkit makes it quick and easy for you to find out about the different methods you can use to involve patients and the public in your work. It links you with our Patient Involvement and Communications Team who can support you to recruit people to your PPI activities, as well as containing practical guidance, templates, and downloadable step-by-step information about how to design and deliver involvement activities in your research.
